The Alumni Student Mentorship Program (ASMP) initiative by Student Alumni Relations Cell aims to create a platform for student-alumni interaction and nurture an everlasting relationship. This is achieved through various events where the alumni mentors guide the student mentees academically and professionally and help them in their other life problems, thereby creating a strong bond in the process and enhancing the IITB Alumni network.

Testimonials
Antariksh Bothale-(mentor)
As an alumnus of such a premier institute, I have always wished to maintain a deep connection with IIT. ASMP gave me an excellent platform to mentor students while maintaining a relationship with the institute. As a mentor, I was presented with a unique opportunity: help your mentees grow academically and professionally by sharing their perspective and experiences! I successfully guided a few of my mentees and felt happy I was able to help. I still remember staying in touch with one of my mentees while he was in college. I guided him in course selection, internship preparation, and the like. Honestly, the best interactions have been with mentees who were clear about what they wanted from me and maintained an ongoing

I have been associated with the ASMP program for the past two years, and it can only be said that the experience only keeps getting better. The student's energy and enthusiasm were overwhelming, as I remember being on a similar footing in the past. The program does a splendid job of connecting us with the students. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and I hope to be a part of this program in the coming year."
Aum Samuel-(mentee)
Based on my interests at the time, I had asked for an ASMP in the Core Mechanical Engineering industry. I was indeed allotted my first preference, and I was excited since he had worked in the industry for a long time and had 20+ years of experience across various large MNCs. From the first call itself, we established a good rapport. Like ISMP and DAMP, he did not just ask me about my academic and professional interests but encouraged me to develop other interests. We typically connect on call once every 3-4 months, and we have now had quite a few calls since the beginning of the mentor program. My mentor is highly experienced and often brings up insights I had not thought of as a student.
Nikita Dipali-(mentee)
I highly recommend the ASMP program based on my personal experience with my alumni mentor. Since my mentor allotment, my mentor has been a crucial guide in my career and college-related decision-making as they have often offered a more seasoned perspective. Suppose you are looking forward to interacting with somebody with a significant amount of experience under their belt, who is eager and responds well to interaction and is ready to aid you in figuring out your path. In that case, this is the right place to be.
